The formula
Sale price = original price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). A $80 item at 25% off costs $80 × 0.75 = $60, so you save $20.
Stacked discounts are not added together
A 25% discount followed by an extra 10% is not 35% off. The second discount applies to the already reduced price: $80 × 0.75 × 0.90 = $54, an effective discount of 32.5%.
