Trip Fuel Cost Calculator
Calculating…
The formula
Gallons = distance ÷ miles per gallon, and cost = gallons × price per gallon. A 300-mile trip at 30 mpg uses 10 gallons, which costs $35 at $3.50 a gallon, or about 11.7 cents per mile.
Use your real mpg
The sticker figure is a lab estimate. Highway speed, cold weather, a loaded car and aggressive driving all lower it. Divide miles driven by gallons added at your last fill-up to get your own number.
