TDEE Calorie Calculator

Estimate how many calories you burn per day.

Calculating…

How it is calculated

The Mifflin-St Jeor equation estimates basal metabolic rate (BMR): 10 × weight (kg) + 6.25 × height (cm) − 5 × age + 5 for men or − 161 for women. Total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) is BMR times an activity factor from 1.2 to 1.9.

A 30-year-old man of 80 kg and 180 cm has a BMR of 1,780 kcal. With moderate activity (×1.55), his TDEE is about 2,759 kcal.

The 500 calorie rule

A common rule of thumb says about 3,500 kilocalories equal one pound of body fat, so 500 fewer calories a day leads to roughly a pound lost per week. Real results vary between people and over time.
